Can Kayak Carrier be Mounted to MaxxTow MaxxHaul Over-The-Cab Truck Bed Ladder Rack

Is there any accessories that fit this rack for carrying 2 kayaks on their side?

The crossbars for the MaxxTow MaxxHaul Over-The-Cab Truck Bed Ladder Rack # MT70232 have a 1.90" diameter which is too big for any kayak carriers. If you are wanting to use a ladder rack on your 2015 Ram 2500 to transport your kayaks then you either need to place them directly on these bars or use a different ladder rack.

A cost-effective alternative is the MaxxTow Truck Bed Ladder Rack # MT70423 which has a 400 lb weight capacity and has T-Slots for a kayak carrier. If you are wanting a ladder rack that uses the cantilever (over the cab) then the only option that allows you to use a kayak carrier is the Thule TracRac SR. You'll need part # TH43003XT-000EX for an 8' bed or part # TH43003XT-501EX for a 6-1/2' bed (without the RamBox). I know there is a significant price difference but the SR gives you the ability to adjust the distance between the crossbars easily plus it has a massive weight capacity at 1,250 lbs.

No matter which T-Slot ladder rack option you go with we do have some options for you. If you're looking for a traditional J-Style carrier then the Thule Hull-A-Port # TH849000 is what you need (1 for each kayak). If you are just looking for a cost-effective way to transport them then the Rhino-Rack Nautic Stack # RRS520 is the better option for you.
