How Much Rise Do I need In B&W Tow & Stow on Truck With Leveling Kit
Question:
I have a 2017 3500 with a leveling kit, but not a lift. It does sit higher than stock, but not as much as trucks with lifts. I’m looking @ the 4.5”, 5.5”, and 7” . I use several different trailers. Which would be the best /rise for my set up?

Expert Reply:
The appropriate amount of rise would really depend on the measurement from the bottom of the trailer coupler that you are towing to the ground. That would be the the measurement you would typically subtract from the truck's hitch to the ground measurement to determine the rise or drop in a ball mount that you may need to be within 2 inches of level with the trailer.
Since you mention that you tow several different trailers then I recommend to use the adjustable ball mount with the largest range of adjustment. I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount part # BWTS20049B with the 7.5" rise and 7" drop if you have a 2-1/2" hitch. If you have a 2" hitch, I recommend B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount part # BWTS10049B with a 7-1/2" rise and 7" drop.
