Weight Distribution Shank to Allow Additional Drop with Reese Weight Distribution System

Question:

I was towing my 2019 wolf pup 16bhs 3100 lbs dry with a 2017 Honda Pilot with a Reese weight distribution pro series chain not trunnion and double sway control. I just purchased a 2019 Ford 4x4 F-150 XLT sport with max tow package I know overkill. I now need to change the rise of my shank and need some advise. What shank should I buy from e trailer to change the height. My pilot was with no load 16 inches from ground to center of tow receiver. My new truck is approx 20 inches to center of receiver. I will attach some photos of Honda configuration. My trailer is in a storage facility and need to buy the needed part before my next trip in October so that I can correct the height before hitching up. Not sure if the current shank will work. I know it’s not ideal not having trailer. Any help is appreciated. I can respond later with photos of f150.

Sounds like you are in need of a weight distribution shank that will provide you with 4 inches of additional drop from what you have. A great solution for that is the Curt weight distribution shank part # C17123 which will give you the amount of drop you are looking for and also fits the head of your Reese system since Curt and Reese both make their shank dimensions to the same size.

That ball mount # RP3214 is long enough but would not have enough drop at 2-1/4 inches.
