Will the Reese Goose Box RP85FR Hit the Bed Rails On a 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500 While Turning

Question:

I have Fabex 665 installed on my 2005 Cardinal. The previous owner put a goose neck adapter on it. I want to replace this entire hitch with the Reese goose box 94716. My 2013 Chevy 2500 HD has a B and W turnover goose ball in it.I also have a roller bed cover on my Chevy. With the present configuration the Cardinal hits the bed rail at an 85 deg. turn. My concern is that when the Reese coupler is on the Cardinal it will wit even lower in the bed and hit the rail sooner. I am considering an offset ball., but worried about the hitch weight/ steering of truck.

I have attached a dimensional photo of the Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter part # RP85FR which you can use to determine your bed rail clearance but I would not be able speculate on this for you as there are just too many variables involved.

That said, we do offer the 1" High-Rise Ball for B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Trailer Hitch part # BWGNXA2050 and the 4" Offset Ball for B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Trailer Hitches part # BWGNXA4085 which will both increase your bed rail clearance. The offset adapter would not create too much of a decrease in performance.
