Correct Replacement for Kwikee Series 23 Steps Model 902308000

Question:

Kwikee Series 25. I am removing my old worn out steps[902308000] and replacing them with a newer set.[902509000]. Hopefully this is a direct plug and play exchange. My question is, will this work with my old door sensor switch? Present switch is black, which is normally open, I think. Not sure. Thank You

I reached out to the manufacturer who told me the Kwikee Series 25 Steps # LC365837 you are looking to replace your older steps with will not work. This is what they told me:

"Per my parts department, based on the information you have provided, they can verify that the customer is replacing a Series 23 Kwikee step assembly with a series 25 Kwikee step assembly. He needs to be advised not to do this, as they will not fit or bolt up properly. The frame sizes are different from one another and the bolt patterns are different. He currently has the Series 23 Kwikee steps. Lippert's recommendation would be to replace them with an identical model, which is still available, the Series 23 complete Kwikee step assembly is 3694042."

What that means is that you will need the Kwikee 23 Series Electric RV Steps # LC3694042 in order to properly replace your steps. These steps have the correct size, motor, control unit and switch kit that will work for you.

Is it possible to buy the frame only? All my gear, motor and controller are fine and could be transferred. Thank You

I checked with Lippert, and unfortunately the frame by itself for a Series 23 step is not something that is available as a separate part. For some reason, the frames of some Kwikee steps are made available but not for all Series, and the 23 Series is one of those in which the frame is not able to be purchased.

What that means is that as Lippert previously said you will need to replace your steps with the Kwikee 23 Series Electric RV Steps # LC3694042.
