Can Trailer Connector for 2018 Toyota Sienna LE Test Good and Still Have Fuse Blow

Is it possible for this unit to test good and then the fuse blows under load? 2018 Toyota Sienna LE and part #118648 installed. This unit has worked for 4 months and then proceeded to blow a 15 amp fuse when the trailer is connected and any of the signals/lights are used. Both signals flashed on the trailer when using the turn signal then the fuse blows. The vehicle tests good with my 12 volt tester and the trailer seems to work when I connected my trolling motor battery to test the signals/lights with it. The lights/signals work. no shorts I noticed the current draw on a #1157 bulb is 2.1 amps (for brake/signal)which is right at the limit for the Tekonsha #118648.

Yes, it is possible the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118648 for your 2018 Toyota Sienna LE can test fine and still blow a fuse if you are over the capacity of 2.1 amps per circuit for the stop/turn lights. If you are over that you can switch to the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56261 which has a 3.0 amps per circuit capacity for the stop/turn lights, but it has just a 5.0 amps per circuit capacity for the tail lights, which is quite a bit less than the Tekonsha's 7.5 amps per circuit.

The other option is to switch your trailer to LED lights if you do not currently have them, such as the LED Combination Tail Light Kit for Trailers under 80" Wide # TLL56RK or Aero Pro LED Trailer Light Kit for Trailers Over 80" Wide # TLL36RK.

I have added links to video reviews of these lights for you to check out.
