How to Determine Correct Replacement Electric Brakes for Travel Trailer

I’m looking to replace the brakes on my travel trailer. They still seem to work fine but they’re pretty old so I’d say it’s due. Can I just remove one of the existing ones to find something to identify what I need to order to replace them?

I can tell you exactly how to determine which brake assemblies will work for your travel trailer, and though it isn't quite as simple as taking the brakes off, it really isn't all that difficult with a bit of added information.

To determine the brake assemblies that will fit your trailer, you just need to know your axle's weight capacity, your mounting flange bolt pattern and the inside diameter and depth of your drum.

For example, the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-468-469 are for 3,500 lb axles, measure 10" diameter x 2-1/4" wide (so that is the drum size they fit in) and fit a 4-bolt mounting flange that has bolt holes which measure 2-7/8" apart on center like Mounting Flange # 4-35. The accompanying photo shows the dimensions of the brake mounting flange, which you can use to compare to yours.

I have added a link to our entire selection of electric brakes for you to come back to once you know this information, or you can let me know your axle capacity, flange, and drum size and I will be happy to find the right parts for you.
