Replacement Hub that Has Bearings L44649 and Bolt Pattern 5 on 4-1/2 inch

Question:

It appears part # 8-258-5UC1 has a grease seal I.D. of 1.5. the one I took off is old part # AB1990E, translates too part # 13194 with the I.D. 1.372. will 1.5 be too big? Regarding the upgrade to a 3.5 axle. It is approximately 79inch from pin to pin, measuring across the axle to the spring pin. It is approx 89inch from hub face to hub face. The spring length Im not sure if measuring the bow in the spring is necessary but I will give you two measurements 1. Across the frame from slide bracket to center of the bolt is approximately 25inch and actual bow of spring is approximately 29 I hope this helps

The trailer hub part # 8-258-5UC1 that you referenced is an exact fit for the spindle you have on your trailer based on the bearing numbers you listed and the wheel bolt pattern.

To jump up to a 3,500 lb axle would require more info from you. I'd need spring seat center to spring seat center plus hub face to hub face off your old axles. You have slipper springs which we can help with that as well. How long are the springs you have now?

The hub I mentioned can still fit your spindle but you'll need to also order the seal # 13194 that you mentioned. Since the outer diameter of the seal you have now matches the seal of the hub # 8-258-5UC1 it will fit the hub and then the inner diameter will fit the spindle and you'd be set in that regard. We have 89 inch long axles that are 3,500 lb capacity but the spring seats on them are at 74 inches like with the Dexter part # 35545I-EZ-89. You could have the spring seats moved to match the dimensions you need though. The closest length leaf spring to what you need is the part # e54SR which is for a 3,500 lb axle and has a 25-1/8 inch overall length. This is a double eye setup though instead of a slipper spring. So you'd need the U-bolt kit part # APUBR-1 to attach the axle to the springs and then the hanger kit part # APS4 to mount the springs.
