While we have heard of people using electrical vents like the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-06401K above a tub/shower, it is not meant to be installed in that location because water from the shower (whether it is from steam or from someone dancing around while singing in the shower) can harm the electrical components and cause the vent to fail. This is the same reason why you shouldn't use this above a range cooking surface either.
If you like the idea of having a rain cover then I recommend using a manual lift assembly instead like the MaxxAir Mini # MA00-03750 Black or # MA00-03700 White. The great thing about these options is that you don't have to purchase a separate rain cover.
