Availability of Hardware for Transferring Trailer Hitch from 2016 to 2018 Subaru Forester
Question:
I purchased this hitch from you about two years ago and installed it on my 2016 Forester. My Forester is coming off lease and I need to remove the hitch before I return the vehicle to the dealer. I want to transfer the hitch to my girlfriends 2018 Forester. Question 1: Can you confirm that this hitch fits the 2018 Forester? Everything I read indicates that it does, because the 2016 and 2018 have an identical frame, but I just wanted to make sure. Question 2: Can I purchase the entire hardware package including the bolts and pull wires from you separately so that I can do the new install on my girlfriends Forester? Or perhaps just the pull wires assuming I can reuse the old bolts?

Your Draw-Tite # 76182 Class III receiver hitch will indeed fit your girlfriend's 2018 Subaru Forester. We do offer a replacement hardware kit as part # RHK. On the RHK page, Type the hitch part number into the provided field. In this case, the number is 76182. Just below where you type that in, there is a drop down menu. Click that, and select Draw-Tite then choose quantity 1.
The hardware included with the hitches is meant to be torqued one time only. Torquing the bolts more than once can stretch them, which is something you'll want to avoid.
I've linked you to a product description video featuring the replacement hardware kit.
