How To Hual a 250 Lb Scooter On a 2017 Subaru Forester
Question:
Hello! I have a 2017 Subaru Forester, and I want to haul a 2016 Vespa Primavera 50cc scooter with it. What is the best hitch/trailer for the job? Thanks very much for your assistance!

The best option we have for you to transport your scooter is by using a trailer which is because the weight of your scooter (250 lbs) exceeds the tongue weight capacity of your vehicle (200 lbs) so you can't use a hitch mounted carrier. In order to install a trailer hitch on your 2017 Subaru Forester I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76182 because this option has a hidden cross tube which means only the receiver tube opening will be shown once installed (see photo).
The rest of the parts you will need are a trailer wiring harness, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118467 and a ball mount/hitch ball, the Ball Mount Kit part # 989900. Then for a trailer, the Detail K2 Mighty Multi Utility Trailer part # K2MMT4X6 would be a good choice because of the tilt bed and long ramp for easy loading.
