Weight Distribution Hitch Shank With 6 Drop Recommendation For A 2006 Ram 2500

I have over sized tires on my 2006 Ram 2500. I normally run about a 6 inch drop hitch to keep most loads level. Do any of your products come with a drop hitch ?

The included shank on the Curt MV Weight Distribution System # C17052 will provide a maximum of 2-1/2" of drop. In order to get this down to 6" or even more, the Curt Weight Distribution Shank # C17124 provides you up to 10" of drop and is adjustable in 1-1/4" increments.

At pretty much the same price point you can instead get this weight distribution system including friction sway control like the Curt MV # C17062. Sway control will make a significant difference in your towing experience and is particularly important if you experience sway in situations like being passed by large trucks or in heavy wind.

A third option which is my recommendation is the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA94-00-1000. Utilizing a bracketed trunnion system provides more secure sway control and is heavier duty than round bar weight distribution systems. Trunnions are also easier to install than round bars and offer more ground clearance as well. Since the maximum drop on this weight distribution system is 2-1/4", you would still need an adjustable shank with more drop.

For the Curt # C17052 and the Fastway # FA94-00-1000 you will also need a hitch ball w/ 1-1/4" diameter shank like the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # 63840 for complete the package if you don't already have one. The Curt # C17124 providing sway control has the hitch ball included.
