Thule Apex XT 4-Bike Rack vs. Inno Aero Light 4-Bike Rack

Question:

Full Tilt vs Apex XT. I have a 2012 Mazda CX-9 with class 2, 1.25 inch hitch. I want to carry women and childrens bicycles as well. So far it looks like my best options are the Inno and the Thule Apex XT. The price and the features seem quite similar so is there anything that should push me to one versus the other?

You are right on the money in that the Inno Aero Light 4-Bike Rack # INH640 and Thule Apex XT 4-Bike Rack # TH9025XT share a lot of the same benefits but I highly recommend the Apex XT for a couple reasons, starting with the spacing on the arms.

The Apex XT measures 6-1/2 inches from inside-to-inside of the cradles, which is narrower than the Inno, meaning better stability for your bikes from the Apex XT. The Apex XT also weighs about 10 lbs less than the Inno and has a tool-free installation with a hand knob, while the Inno uses a threaded hitch pin that requires you to use Ratchet # PTW38106-24 to install.

The only other thing to keep in mind since you said you were going to use the rack for a children's bike and women's step-through frame bike is that you will need the Bike Adapter Bar # TH982XT because the bar will give those bikes a horizontal mounting point so they can be carried by the hanging rack.

I have added links to video reviews for you to check out as well of the Inno Aero Light 4-Bike Rack # INH640 and Thule Apex XT # TH9025XT.
