Secondary Transmission Cooler For A 2000 Honda Accord V6 Needed
Question:
2000 Honda Accord V6 Automatic Transmission Im looking for a secondary transmission cooler for the Accord. I do not haul anything with the vehicle. It is due to living in Texas heat and a recommended procedure due to transmission oil seems to be getting burnt at early intervals. These Hondas are known for having issues with transmission and this is a preventative measure to extend life of transmission. Transmission currently shifts fine and vehicle runs great. I would like a cooler that is easy to install and comes with all parts necessary and instructions. Vehicle use is mainly highway driving does not have any performance parts installed vehicle is in original conditions.

The best way to select the correct transmission cooler is by determining where there is enough space to mount it.
The attached diagram shows the best three positions to mount the transmission cooler in order. Transmission coolers are more efficient when they receive maximum air flow. The "A" transmission cooler location in the diagram is 100% efficient so a larger transmission cooler is not needed to compensate for the loss of cooling power.
My recommendation is the Derale Dyno-Cool Tube-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D12906 that nicely fits in front of your engine bay to capture that cooling air. Included is a picture of the cooler installed for reference as well.
