Recommended Trailer Hitch for My 2019 Honda Odyssey?

There are a few different hitches available for my 2019 Honda Odyssey from Draw-Tite and Curt, so which one is better?

There are some small differences between the 3 hitches you're referring to in the Draw-Tite # 76170 and # 76171 and the Curt # C13370 , but there is going to be one that I recommend over the others and that is the Draw-Tite # 76171 . I'll start by saying that it appears that your 2019 Honda Odyssey has a towing capacity of 3500-lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 525-lbs; you'll want to check your owners manual for confirmation on that information. All of the hitches mentioned will allow you to safely tow up to that 3500-lbs, but some of the hitches offer a higher tongue weight capacity which can prove to be beneficial in a lot of circumstances.

The difference between the two Draw-Tite hitches comes down to towing capacity and design. The # 76171 is a round tube design, has a higher towing capacity and allows for the use of a weight distribution hitch, where the # 76170 is a square tube design that will not allow for use with a weight distribution hitch. The design and the ability to use a weight distribution hitch if needed give the advantage to the # 76171 when it comes to the two Draw-Tite hitches; I also like that the #76171 has a higher capacity, so it will be a bit more sturdy than the # 76170 .

The Curt # C13370 is very similar to the Draw-Tite # 76171 in that it is a round tube design that allows you to use a weight distribution hitch; it also has a similar towing capacity to the # 76171 . Both of these hitches have a fairly similar installation process, but there is one small difference. Where we separate the Draw-Tite #76171 and the Curt # C13370 is that the Draw-Tite , with the higher tongue weight capacity, is going to provide with a bit more sturdy design than the Curt hitch. Overall, the functionality is the same and the hitches are going to install and sit in mostly the same spot on the vehicle to provide the same clearance from the bumper, but since the Draw-Tite has been rated for a higher capacity I prefer to have that extra piece of mind when towing.

Overall, the differences are small, but if it was my vehicle I would go with the Draw-Tite # 76171 .

If you're going to be towing a trailer, you'll also need to add a 4 way connection. To accomplish this you can use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118781 which will provide you with a quick and easy way to install a 4 way on your Odyssey. This harness plugs in to your existing vehicle wiring and includes a powered module that connects directly to the battery to avoid overloading vehicle's electrical system.

You'll also want to add a ball mount like the Draw-Tite # 2923 and hitch ball # 63845 to give you a complete towing package.
