Trailer Hitch with 2 Receiver for 2016 Ford Transit 350 HD Motorhome Chassis To Carry Motorcycle

I need a beefier 2inch hitch to install on my 2016 Ford Transit HD Coachman Motorhome, not for towing, but to carry a small 230 lb. motorcycle on a carrier another 48 lbs. It appears the Curt 13193 would work if I drill the chassis frame for the two 1/2inch forward carriage bolts. Would that work to give me a sturdier mount than my factory installed 1-1/4inch hitch?

The one thing you'll need to determine by looking in your owners manual is what the tongue weight capacity of your motorhome is. I wasn't able to find any information with my research as to whether or not a 350HD motorhome frame has a different tongue weight capacity than the passenger van versions; a lower tongue weight capacity on the frame may have been the reason that the factory mounted a 1-1/4" receiver on the rear of your motorhome and you may be limited to that 200-lbs capacity on a hitch. If you can verify that your tongue weight is over the 300-lbs or so that you require to carry your motorcyle and carrier, then you would be able to upgrade the hitch.

If you're able to carry a higher tongue weight on the rear of your motorhome safely, I recommend measuring the distance between two of the bolt holes on the chassis frame to make sure that your 2016 Ford Transit 350 HD Motorhome has the same distance between the bolt holes as the passenger van frame does. As long as you have 35-1/2" center on center between the 2 holes, you can use the Curt # C13193 hitch with a 2" receiver as an upgrade to carry your motorcycle and carrier.

If the dimensions you've measured aren't an exact match, and your Transit 350HD has a box, C frame or I frame, you can use the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch # C13702 which will allow you to mount this hitch on frames between 18" and 51"wide and still provide you with more than enough tongue weight capacity to carry your 300-lbs carrier and motorcycle.
