Why Can't Convert-A-Ball 5th Wheel Adapter Be Used with Ram Factory Gooseneck Hitch

Why is this not recommended for use on Ram oem gooseneck?

The primary reason why the Convert-A-Ball 5th Wheel Adapter # CAB-C5GX1216 can't be used on your Ram OEM gooseneck hitch (along with factory prep packages on other brand trucks) is because the factory systems use a lever on top of the hitch ball that rubs against the flat top on the adapter that really wears it down over time. This can eventually lead to you being unable to actually remove the hitch ball from the truck.
To use with the factory gooseneck on your Ram, I instead recommend the Ranch Hitch # AM3139, which still features an 8" offset for cab clearance but is completely compatible with the factory system. I have attached a short video review and the written manual below that you can also check out.
