Will Draw-Tite Class I Hitch # 24882 Fit 2011 Chevy Cruze Without Drilling or Modifications

Question:

I want to install this hitch to a 2011 Chevy Cruze to use a hitch mounted bike rack only, no towing. With this hitch is there any drilling of the frame or modfying of the undercarriage to install? I want to transport two bikes only. Thanks...

The Hidden Hitch Class I 1-1/4 Inch Hitch, part # 60299 (no longer available), will fit your 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. The installation of the hitch will not require any drilling or modification of the vehicles undercarriage. I am including a link to the installation instructions on the Hidden Hitch.

Since you will be using the hitch for only a hitch bike rack and not for towing, I would recommend to look at the Draw-Tite Class I 1-1/4 Inch Hitch, part # 24882. This is the same hitch as the # 60299 Hidden Hitch, but does not include the ball mount that is only used for towing purposes. The price for the hitch would be less since the ball mount is not included. The installation instruction link mentioned above would be the same for the Draw-Tite hitch.

Since the hitch for your car is a Class I hitch you will be limited to only a 2 bike rack that will fit a Class I hitch. A 1-1/4 inch Class II bike rack will not work.

A couple of bike racks I would recommend for your Class I hitch would be the Swagman XTC-2 Bike Carrier, part # S64670, which is a platform style bike rack and the Swagman Trailhead 2 Bike Rack, part # S63360, which is a hanging bike rack. Both bike racks are nice choices, but the advantage with the platform rack is the ease of lifting the bikes on to the bike rack. I am including links to a video review and instructions on the recommended bike racks.

I am also including a link to a FAQ page on choosing a hitch mounted bike rack.
