I need a trailer hitch and wiring for my 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude to tow a boat. What should I get?

To give yourself a complete tow package for your 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude you will need a hitch, wiring and a ball mount. I would recommend the Draw-Tite # 75699 as your hitch receiver since it has a more concealed design and the tube won't hang out from under the vehicle like it does on the Curt # C13182.

For your wiring, if you don't have the tow package wiring on your vehicle, you'll want to use the Tekonsha T-One # 118727 in order to put a 4 pole flat connector on the back of your 2020 Grand Cherokee. If your vehicle came equipped with the tow package, but not a hitch or wiring, you'll want to use # C55384 which plugs into the US Car Connector at the rear of your Jeep.

If your trailer has brakes, you'll need to then install a 7 way connector using the # ETBC7L and get a brake controller; I recommend using the Curt Echo Mobile # C51180 because it provides the easiest installation and can be controlled with any Bluetooth enabled smartphone. The Curt Echo plugs into the 7 way connector on your vehicle and then allows the 7 way connection on your trailer to plug into it. Your smart phone must have the following operating systems in order to be used with the Echo:

Smart device OS requirements:
Apple: 8.0 or newer
Android: 4.4 and newer

The last piece of the puzzle is a ball mount for your 2" receiver; for that I recommend the # EBMK4 which comes with a Convert-A-Ball that will allow you to tow trailers with either 1-7/8" or 2" couplers. This kit also allows you to tow with either a 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop if needed; overall, I really like the flexibility this ball mount kit provides for.
