Parts Needed to Install 7-Way Trailer Connector on 2020 Ford Transit T250
Question:
My 2020 Ford Transit T250 doesn't have any kind of tow package or wiring. I need to install a 7-way connector to hook up to a trailer that has a 7-way just for its lights. Can you tell me what I would need to accomplish this? Thanks.

If your trailer is equipped with a 7-Way but you only need to power its basic signal lights (and not electric brakes) then adding a 7-Way connector to your 2020 Ford Transit T250 will actually be fairly simple.
To do this you will need to start with a 4-Way harness. For this I highly recommend the Curt T-Connector # C56327, which will plug into existing ports behind the driver and passenger side tail lights. Once those connections are made you will run the power wire up to the Transit's battery and you will have a fully functional 4-Way connector.
Then with the 4-Way in place you can easily convert it to a 7-Way using the Tow Ready # 30717. This will just plug into the 4-Way you installed to provide you with a 7-Way connector at the other end. The additional white wire coming off the adapter needs to be attached to a clean metal surface for ground but the additional blue, black, and yellow wires can simply be capped off as they aren't needed.
