Voltage Rating of 50 Amp Outlet on etrailer.com 6,000 Watt Portable Inverter Generator

Question:

How is the 50a plug only 120v? Does that mean that one of the legs of the 4wire plug is hot at 120v and one is not from my experience with 4 wire plug is that there are 2 hots, 1 neutral, and 1 ground. Are there 2 hots at 120? if so how does it not deliver 240v?

Expert Reply:

Both the 50 amp and 30 amp outlets on the etrailer.com 6,000-Watt Portable RV Inverter Generator # 333-0003-2-0007 are rated for 120V, making them compatible with standard household AC appliances and tools. Only one pin on the 50 amp side is utilized so it is not designed for 240V applications.

I have attached a short video review on this generator that you can check out as well.
