Does the Curt #14082 Require Modification to Work with Under Bed Mounted Spare Tire?
Question:
I see the hitch will mount ok for a 71 C10 long bed with standard bumper. Will the stock spare tire location and mounting fit ok without modifications with the 14082?

Yes. I've linked a picture of a Chevy C Series with the under-mounted spare tire to show you, but the Curt # C14082 will work with the stock spare tire mounting location on your 1971 C Series pickup and you won't need to make any modifications as long as your truck has 34" frame spacing.
If your 1971 C10 has a frame with different width, please let me know and I can recommend a universal hitch that will work for your truck.
