Can the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch Auto Slide While Truck is Backing

Question:

I purchased the 21k hitch from local supplier, how does the slider work when backing up pickup, does hitch automatically slide to rear to allow for turning without hitting cab?

The Demco Hijacker Autoslide # DM8550034 works the same in reverse as it would if you were turning while moving forward. Once you make a 10 to 15 degree turn, the hitch will automatically unlock itself and the hitch head will slide rearward providing additional clearance between the front of your fifth wheel and the rear of the truck cab.
