Recommended Roof Rack For 2018 Honda Odyssey with Raised Rails

Question:

I have the factory roof rails and bought the Thule Evo Raised Rail 7104 problem is even when tight the outside clamp is barely a few millimeters below the bar, see pics below. Have you had the same experience? Did I get the wrong package?

I checked with Thule and their fit guide confirms that the Evo Raised Rail # TH710401 are not a fit for the 2018 Honda Odyssey with the factory raised rails. I can't say that I've seen anything that shows how you can make the Thule Evo Raised Rail Feet work on the rails on an Odyssey, which is most likely down to the height of the factory Honda side rails. You may want to return them and have a look at the Yakima Timberline Towers # Y33TR and Yakima Core Bars # Y00422 which are a confirmed fit on your 2018 Honda Odyssey. Yakima is every bit as good as Thule- it's really like comparing Nike to Adidas. I'm confident you'll find these are a great option for your Honda Odyssey and they will fit without the issues that you're experiencing currently because they attach to the raised side rails via a heavy duty rubber strap.
