Is Trimming Needed to Install Trailer Hitch Receiver on 2019 Volkswagen Golf GTI
Question:
Is there any type of trimming that will have to be done when trying to install a hitch on my 2019 VW Golf? It's the GTI model. Thank you!

Only the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24979 requires any trimming of your 2019 Volkswagen Golf GTI, which leaves you a couple of options for hitches that require no trimming at all. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11412 (1-1/4" receiver), along with the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7375 (2" receiver) and # 306-X7376 (1-1/4" receiver) can be installed without any trimming needed.
The best option for your '19 VW Golf GTI is the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7375 because it is the only option that has a 2" receiver, which means you are not limited in the accessories you can use, like you would be with a 1-1/4" receiver. Additionally, the receiver is completely removable so if you aren't using it you can just take it off and it's like you don't have a hitch on at all because no other part of the hitch is visible.
I have added links to video installs of both the EcoHitch and Curt on a VW Golf for you to take a look at as well.
