Question:
In my motorhome, the lifter motor just spins and spins and spins not lifting the vent lid or when up, lowers it.. it just spins. Only way I can get it to move up to the open position or down to the closed position is to put alot of pressure on the turning know to get it to move the vent, once closed, I have to hold the knob to get it stop spinning. I have no idea what to do to fix it. Does this sound like I need to just replace the whole lifter motor assembly part listed above? Thoughts?

It sounds like the the issue stems from the lift arm roller. If the teeth on either the lift arm or on the inside of the piece on which it attaches on the motor are damaged or stripped, it would explain why the motor simply spins without actually lifting or lowering the vent lid.
To remedy this, I recommend replacing both the lift motor and the lift arm mechanism. To replace a 7-rpm speed lift motor, use # FVK6050-80. Otherwise, the 17-rpm lift motor can be replaced with either # FVK6010-80 (off white) or # FVK6010-81 (white).
The correct replacement lift arm is # FVK8011-05 for vents with domed lids, like # FV801250 or # FVK8014-05 for vents with flat lids, like # FV800601.
