What is the difference between the two options you offer? Will they both fit the thule square bars?

The difference between the end caps is simply that the Thule Load Bar Replacement End Caps THEC1 are the older version of replacement end caps, while the Replacement Endcaps for Thule SquareBar Roof Racks # TH1500052968 are direct replacement caps for the most recent version of Thule's square crossbars. These caps have "Thule" written on the sides and are direct replacements for the following:

- Thule SquareBar Crossbars - Steel - 43" Long # TH712100
- Thule SquareBar Crossbars - Steel - 47" Long # TH712200
- Thule SquareBar Crossbars - Steel - 50" Long # TH712300
- Thule SquareBar Crossbars - Steel - 53" Long # TH712400
- Thule SquareBar Crossbars - Steel - 60" Long # TH712500

We have trailer wiring that fits your 2022 Mazda CX-9 with the Tekonsha kit part #118278 but the Curt you mentioned is not a fit for your vehicle. This will work great with the Draw Tite hitch you plan on installing on your vehicle as well #76020.

It looks as if you have an older fairing, and not the Thule AirScreen, so the #8528583001 would not be compatible. For the fairing you have (judging by what little I can see in the photo you provided), you'd need the #8537361 clips.
