Why Is Stabilization Strap Required To Use A Bike Rack In A Curt Trailer Hitch On A 2019 Honda CR-V
Question:
I'm unclear what a stabilzation strap is and why I would need it? I'm looking at the Curt # 18050 and wondering if I need for my 2019 CRV and just trying to understand. I would like to add a carrier for my road bike and don't have a hitch currently.

A stabilization strap like the Curt Cam Buckle Stabilizing Strap # 18050 is sometimes used for additional support using bike racks on Class I hitches. They are not required necessarily but once were recommended for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12169.
Another hitch for your 2019 Honda CRV that I recommend is the etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98848 which will give you a 2" receiver opening to support a variety of accessories including your bike rack. A bike rack I recommend as well is the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Platform Rack # KU74FR which is a very popular option because of it's ease to load with a step-through design and it's ratching hooks and cradles that secure your road bike without frame contact.
