Can Bargman Triple Trailer Tail Light be Exposed to Water

47-84-104. I am going to use these lights to replace existing exposed lights on my truck. I understand them not to be on a boat/marine use. are they sealed enough to be mounted with the rear exposed or do they require additional sealing? How water resistant are they? If they are not, what are your suggestions to make they so? If part of the lens becomes defective, ie lights burn out or one section no longer function, can it be repaired w/o purchasing a complete new light?

Good questions, and the answer is the Long LED Triple Trailer Tail Light # 47-84-104 are a recessed mount and the back should not be exposed. I checked with Bargman, the manufacturer, who has not deemed them "weatherproof" so they are not lights you are going to want to expose to the elements in any way, and there really isn't a reliable way to make them water resistant with the rear of the light exposed. You can use Liquid Electrical Tape # SWC50122 as a sealant on the electrical connections, but the light itself cannot truly be "sealed." In regards to replacements, this light does have a Replacement LED Module # 47-84-420 which is the red LED should anything happen.

While you can use the Bargman Long LED Triple Trailer Tail Light # 47-84-104 if you like, it really does need to have the back of it mounted so it is not exposed at all. Otherwise I recommend using a submersible light that has the same stop, tail, turn and backup like the Fusion LED # STL68RP5B, for example. This particular light is oval and may not be the right size, though I mentioned it because there are no triple lights like the Bargman which are also submersible and going to be completely safe from exposure to water.

I've added links to video reviews as well as a link to our entire selection of submersible tail lights for you to take a look at.
