Hitch Extender And Stabilization Pin Options
Question:
Hi, I have a Jeep Wrangler with a rear mounted oversized tire and I am looking to install a hitch mounted bike rack. I was going to go with the 8” Curt hitch extender C45791 but I wanted to find out what stabilization pin or anti rattle pin would be compatible. I was planning to go with the Thule snug tire hitch lock and anti rattle device THSTL2. Thank you!

The Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches # 63232 is the correct anti-rattle locking hitch pin for your Jeep Wrangler's trailer hitch receiver to use with the Brophy Hitch extender # HE06 as a solution.
The Thule # THSTL2 is designed to work with Thule bike racks specifically. The Roadmaster Quiet Hitch, # RM-061 can be used on the connection between the hitch extender and the hitch receiver itself as another solution.
Please keep in mind that the use of the extender # C45791 will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent. May not be a big concern usually with bike carriers but should you decide to tow it would be key.
