How To Determine If the RockyMounts SwitchHitter LS Roof Bike Rack Will Clear the Rear Hatch

I was curious what the measurement is from the center of the front clamp to the rear of the rail. This would help me determine if my rear hatch will fully open on a 2020 GMC terrain.

In regards to the RockyMounts SwitchHitter LS Roof Bike Rack part # RKY1270, the distance from the center of the mounting clamp to the end of the tray is 53". Therefore, you will need to measure from the center of the front cross bar on your roof rack while in the forward most position to the rear edge of the roof.

According to my research, the distance from the center of the front cross bar on the roof rack to the rear edge of the roof on a 2020 GMC Terrain is 53" so the RockyMounts SwitchHitter LS Roof Bike Rack would be a tight fit. I recommend the Thule FastRide Roof Bike Rack part # TH95JV as the distance from the center of the mounting clamp to the end of the tray is only 49" so you will have much more room.
