7-Way Trailer Connector for 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500

Hey there. So I'm trying to add a 7-way wiring connector to my SPrinter 2500 - 2019 Mercedes for hooking up to the trailer. It's got nothing there now. No tow package that I know of. What will work? Thanks.

Since there's not currently any trailer wiring on your 2019 Mercedes Sprinter 2500 you will need to start by adding a 4-Way harness. For this the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118649 will work perfectly. The custom harness will plug into ports behind the tail lights and receive power by running a hot lead up to the battery (this takes the strain off the Sprinter's factory tail light wiring).

I have attached an installation video below that you can use for reference.

Once the 4-Way is installed it's time to upgrade it to a 7-Way connector. From here you have a couple of options depending on what your trailer is equipped with.

If it doesn't have electric brakes and you just need to power its signal lights, the easiest option is to use the 4-Way to 7-Way Adapter # C57672. This will just plug into the 4-Way you installed to provide you with a 7-Way at the other end for hookup with the trailer. Since in this case you don't need to activate the brake output or 12V circuits on the new 7-Way, the additional blue, black, and yellow wires coming from the adapter can just be capped off. The white wire needs to be attached to a clean metal surface for ground.

Now if the trailer does have electric brakes then the better option will be to use the Wiring Kit # ETBC7 (along with a brake controller like the excellent Prodigy P3 # 90195). This kit includes the 7-Way itself and all the additional wiring needed to activate all of its circuits. I have included the written install manual below.
