Parts Needed to Install 7-Way and Brake Controller in 2011 Hurricane Motorhome on F-53 Chassis
Question:
I have a 2011 Hurricane motor home on a F-53 chassis. I am installing a brake controller and converting my 4-way plug to a 7-way/4-way using your adapter kit. I believe I need to add a fuse and relay to the vehicle fuse panel. Can you tell me what relay and fuse will be required?

Since your 2011 Ford F-53 motorhome has a factory 4-way the best and easiest way to go about installing a brake controller is going to be with the part # ETBC7L as it comes with everything needed to adapt the 4-way to a 7-way and wire in a brake controller. You will need to wire in an included relay but you would not need to also add relays to the motorhome wiring like you mentioned.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller part # 90195 if you haven't picked out one yet. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes. This will be the last brake controller you buy as it is incredibly reliable, works, well and is easy to use. It can easily be transferred to future vehicles as well.
