Question:
Hi I have a 1999 Suburban 2500. It has a 4 flat connector, but I purchased an adapter that converts it to a 7 pin connector. If I the Echo into the 7 pin connector plug, where do I plug in the 4 flat connector for the trailers lights? Im a bit of a novice, so thanks for your help!

To install the Curt Echo Brake Controller # C51180 on your 1999 Suburban with a 4-to 7 Pole adapter, like the one on our # ETBC7L 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit, you just need to plug it into the 7-Pole on the adapter. As long as it was installed correctly, and the rest of the connections were made, the adapter's 7-Pole will contain all of the trailer light functions that were originally on your 4-Pole flat connector, plus the additional functions for trailer brakes, 12V power, and reverse lights (if applicable). Plugging your existing 4-Pole connector to the matching plug on the adapter transfers those same functions (tail/stop/turn) to the pins on the 7-way, so you don't need to plug anything into the 4-Pole connector on the adapter.
I've attached a video that goes over a few more details on the installation and operation of the Curt Echo.
