I bought the bw rvk3305 and saw you recommended setting the arms for 1” in front of axle for a dually F350. Is it the same for a single rear wheel? Or should they be set 3” in front since it’s slightly lighter suspension

Since you have an 8 foot bed, either way you set up your B&W # BWRVK3305 Companion pivot arms could be attached in either orientation. I'd recommend the forward position, which will distribute a bit more weight to the front truck axle. This helps make the truck's handling more stable.
If you don't already have a 7-way trailer connector installed in the bed, you can install one using # 20110-010. I've linked you to a video showing the installation of the wiring harness.
