Does Battery Have to be Disconnected to Install Wiring Harness in 2020 Nissan Murano
Question:
Hi..recieved the wiring harness for my Murano and I would like to know if its really necessary to disconnect the negative terminal from the battery since this is just a plug and play system. If I pull the fuse for the towing/trailer in the fuse block, would this be the same thing? I dont want to have any issues with the cars electrical system with resets etc. thanks

Thanks for the purchase of the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75952 and Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56267 for your 2020 Nissan Murano. And yes, you definitely should disconnect the negative battery terminal before installing the harness; pulling the towing fuse would not have the same affect.
The reason is if you don't disconnect that battery harness there is a possibility of a short that could damage the harness or other electrical systems during the install, which of course you want to avoid.
I have added a link to the installation instructions for you to check out.
