Trailer Hitch and Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
What hitch and trailer wiring is needed to set up a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The dealer tells me it has the tow package, but I don't like the prices they quoted me for the hitch and trailer harness.

I'd recommend the Curt Class III hitch, part # C13182 because of it's high capacity and the nice build and finish quality you'll find with a Curt hitch. Not to mention it's a heckuva lot less expensive than the OEM item. Keep in mind, to install the tow hooks will be removed and left off, and if your spare tire is on a wheel larger than 18 inches in diameter, the spare tire will no longer fit under the vehicle with the hitch installed.
The Draw-Tite # 75713 you'd looked at would also be a good choice, but in my experience the finish and build quality is a bit nicer on the Curt hitches, so I'd recommend the Curt over the Draw-Tite.
For a trailer connector, I'd recommend the # C55774 from Curt. The trailer connector features both a 4-pole and a 7-way, which are the 2 most popular trailer connectors, so you'll be covered both ways there. The connector will plug into the round plug located right behind the back bumper as shown in the video I've linked. Some vehicles will require a trip to the dealership to flash the computer in order to activate the tow package.
