Question:
If I add a reverse lockout solenoid valve to a model 60, do I need to retain the metering orfice, or will metering be performed by the orfice in the lockout valve?

It sounds like your model 60 actuator is for drum brakes and it has the check valve inside the master cylinder. You can use the electric reverse lock out solenoid # T4748800 with the model 60. It will attach directly to the master cylinder and the brake line will attach to the other end. When the vehicle is in reverse, it will not allow fluid to go back to the brakes. The electrical connection needs to be made to the vehicle reverse light circuit.
You will also want to protect the solenoid by adding the shield, # T4835800183.
