Mounting kit for FJ cruiser oem roof rack?

Im wondering if this or any of the other awning mounting kits might be able to be used to mount the Rhino Rack batwing to an FJ Cruiser with an oem roof rack?

The Rhino-Rack Batwing Awning requires the cross bars of the roof rack to have top channels, and that they stick out past the side rails, it also can be used with the Pioneer platform rack like # RR25TB (84" x 49") along with the Pioneer Backbone system for the FJ Cruiser # RRRFJB1.

Since your Toyota FJ Cruiser has the OEM roof rack the cross bars are flush with the rails, and don't have top channels. The Mounting Kit for Rhino-Rack Batwing and Foxwing Awnings # RR31103 you referenced is designed for ARB or TJM trays and I can't confirm if it would work with your factory rack without modification.

However the Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Rack with Backbone Mounting System mentioned above is an option to mount the Batwing. It gives you a platform with the channels needed to mount the awning, and has tons more room to mount other accessories like off road lights, tools, tents or anything else you want to put on your roof.

Another option is to add aftermarket crossbars like the Rhino Rack Aero Roof Rack, it consists of the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRVA118S-2 (silver cross bars) and Rhino-Rack SX Series Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRSX008. For black bars # RRVA118B-2. This gives you the channel on top of the bar and allows you to mount the Batwing. Keep in mind the minimum cross bar spread for the Batwing is 27-1/2" so you want to make sure you have at least that much available on your FJ.

I linked all the parts, and included a few review videos for you to check out. I'll also attach our selection of Rhino Rack Awnings for you to check out.
