Replacement Double Bonded 10 Gauge Wire Set of Brake Controller ETBC7 Kit

Question:

Hi, I own a 2017 Subaru Outback 2.5 Premium. Looking to add the Primus IQ 90160 Brake Controller I already own. Bought ETBC 7 a while back 2 years and cant find duplex wire runs from back of car and wire loom. Found all the other pieces and have placed circuit breakers. I have the 4 pole custom wiring harness for the Subaru installed. I stopped the installation of the wiring a couple of years back because I do not see any visible way to pass wires through the firewall. There is no grommet I can see to pass these three wires through. 1 Is there actually a grommet on a 2017 Outback? If so, where do I look? 2 if not, how big a hole in the firewall do I need to drill? Do you sell a grommet to use so the wires dont get damaged after being installed? Also, do you sell a wire tap 3M that fits the gauge of the brake wire on the cold side of the brake switch and mates with the gauge of the red wire going to the controller? Im ready to install, it seems very straight forward except for these couple of details.

If you lost the bonded 10 gauge wire we have the part # 10-2-1 which is two 10 gauge wires bonded together sold by the foot. Not every firewall will have a hole/grommet ready to have wires ran through but you could drill one and install a grommet as needed. You'd need to source the size grommet you'd need locally based on the hole size you drill. We currently don't have grommets like you are looking for. If you check out the install video I attached for the # ETBC7 you can see where we found a grommet by the brake booster that you could use to route the wires through.

A quick splice connector like you mentioned would be difficult to attach to the thicker red wire of the ETBC7 and the thinner wire of the brake switch circuit. Ideally I would recommend you strip back a section of the brake switch wire of the vehicle and solder it to the red wire of the kit.
