Recommended Way To Power Air Conditioner Unit In RV

Which panel do I need to run air conditioning

I do have an option for you but it is not possible to power an air conditioning unit off of a solar panel with a trailer set up because you would need an extremely large solar panel to put out enough power. For example the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Ceiling Vent and Start Capacitor - White # ACM135C has a running wattage of 1,450 so the power draw is too great for a solar setup. The best way to power an air conditioner is with a generator.

I recommend to use the 4,500-Watt Portable RV Generator part # 333-0005 which can easily power a 15,000 Btu air conditioner at 1,600 running watts. If your AC unit has the option, I recommend to add a start capacitor if you don't already have one. That will help lower the wattage needed to start the air conditioner.
