Weight Distribution and Sway Control Recommendation for Trailer with up to 1,200 lbs Tongue Weight

Question:

HI, I need something rated for up to 1200 tongue weight and 12,000. I also need a 6inch . I have a class 4 hitch from the factory on Dodge 2500. trailer is a 24foot enclosed car trailer. I will also pull an equipment trailer with the same specs. I have airbags. I definitely need the sway control but am unsure if I really need the load distribution set up with the air bags.

The best weight distribution and sway control option we have for a tongue weight of up to 1,200 lbs would be the Strait Line part # RP66074 which has a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs and comes with the best sway control for preventing sway before it starts.

This kit doesn't come with a shank which allows you to select the one you'd need to provide the amount of drop required to tow trailer level. So for that the shank you'd need the part # RP3215 which can do a drop of up to 6-3/4 inches.

Yes, Curt does have a cost-effective shank solution that is perfectly compatible with your Reese system that gives you the drop you'd need with the part # C17123.
