Parts Needed To Rewire Trailer Using 5-Way for Reverse Circuit
Question:
Good afternoon, I am restoring an old trailer. Starting wiring from scratch. Ill be using my 99 Durango for this trailer and already has the hitch and Harness I bought from here. My question is that I bought a pair of unique trailer lights with a reverse function. The lights dont come with any harness, just lights. What harness do you suggest I should buy, and does it support the reverse light function? Or is there a way to get it to work? Thank you!

I have just what you need to rewire a trailer using lights with a built-in reverse function. For this, I recommend a standard 5-way trailer connector which will provide circuits for stop, turn, tail, and reverse. The 5-Way Trailer Wiring Harness part # A40W5B is what I recommend for this as it has enough wire to completely redo the trailer lights with all new wires. I also recommend the Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connectors part # DW05744-10 and CE Smith Trailer Wiring Clips part # CE16867A to complete your install.
In order to attach the 5-way to the vehicle you will need an adapter, part # C57187 if you have a 4-way or part # A75TB if you have a 7-way.
