Question:
Do I need an offset extension for my goose ball on a 2020 gmc 3500 standard bed?

If you have the factory gooseneck prep package on your 2020 GMC Sierra 3500 there isn't an offset ball that will work, though I can tell you how to determine if a Reese Goose Box will give you enough clearance to make a 90 degree turn with your truck.
You will use this formula: (A + B) - C = Clearance
A = Distance from center of gooseneck ball to truck cab
B = Length of offset (this will be zero for the Goose Box and no offset ball)
C = Width of trailer divided by 2
You want the "Clearance" to be at least 4 inches in order to make a full 90 degree turn. That said, realistically it is almost certain that you won't be able to make a 90 degree or sharp turn with a standard bed (also called short bed) with a Goose Box, though in the interest of thoroughness, here are the pin boxes that a Goose Box will replace:
- Lippert 0719, 1621 and 1621HD, as well as Fabex PB-600 Series pin boxes: Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter # RP85FR (20,000 lb capacity)
- Lippert 0115, 1116 and 1716 pin boxes: Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter # RP94716-61301 (16,000 lb capacity)
