Question:
I was going to buy one of these Bike Carriers off Craigslist, but when I went to look at the bike rack the adapter plate did not fit my 2009 Rav4. On the 2009 there is a metal tire rest support the protrudes and the adapter plate will not install flush. I have read that people have to cut this metal support piece off. Have you heard of any other adapter plate that Thule may have that would support this Rav4 Model?

The Spare Me bike rack that you looked at must have been an older model. The newer versions, like # TH963PRO, will fit the 2009 Toyota RAV4.
You would need to use the new mounting plate, # 753-3532, to get an old version of the Spare Me to fit. I have also included a link to the instructions for you to view.
