good morning. I was reading online that some people had trouble with the spare tire on a 2018 highlander not fitting with this hitch. is there a size of tire that would not fit?

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13394 is a fit for a 2018 Toyota Highlander with steel spare wheel/tire. If you instead have an aluminum spare wheel/tire then this won't work. It should be pretty easy to tell the difference between the two metals but using a magnet would help determine this as well as they don't sick to aluminum.
