It sounds like you're looking for a brake controller to install on your Sierra that is compatible with the electric over hydraulic brakes on the trailer you need to tow.
If so, the Curt Spectrum Trailer Brake Controller, part # C51170 is an excellent choice that is fully compatible with electric over hydraulic trailer braking systems.
The Spectrum is a proportional brake controller, which means that you can expect the brakes on the trailer to be applied at the same time and with the exact same intensity as applied on the vehicle. My favorite thing about the Spectrum is that it installs anywhere in your cab and at any orientation. The easy to use, dash-mounted control knob gives you a clean, "from the factory" look.
Don't forget to pick up the Curt Custom Wiring Adapter, part # C51451 for an easy, plug and play installation into the built-in port beneath the dash of your 2018 GMC Sierra 2500.
The Curt Echo # C51180 that you were checking out, unfortunately is not compatible with electric over hydraulic trailer brakes.
