Compatibility of 2018 Ford F-250 Crew Cab Towing 5th Wheel Trailer with Sliding Hitch
Question:
I have a 2018 f250 crew cab regular bed gas truck want to tow 5th wheel. I currently have a 2018 Ford F-250 crew cab fx4 package with a regular bed. I want to purchase a 5th wheel and know that I will need a slide hitch but I had a question as to if you believe my truck will be fine .. the 5th wheel we’re looking at is a genesis 29ck 12000 gvwr and I believe dry it’s 9960 lbs... according to ford my truck is rated for 12500 max so the gvwr is 500 less but just wanted to get an opinion first .. thanks in advance

For your 2018 Ford F-250, you will be fine towing that trailer as long as you don't exceed the truck's rated capacity when the trailer is fully loaded. I recommend using a tongue weight scale like the etrailer # e99044 to determine your tongue weight.
I see you asked the question from the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider - Single Jaw - Ford Super Duty Prep Package - 18K # DM8550024 which is a great sliding hitch. If you don't have the factory prep package pucks, then you will instead use the # DM8551009 below bed rails and the compatible Hijacker Autoslide # DM8550022. You may also want to consider adding the wiring harness # PK11893-11932-010 for in-bed access.
