What Hitch, Wiring Harness, and Ball Mount do I Need for a 2016 Subaru Forester?
Question:
I am considering buying a small 14 ft boat. It comes with a trailer. What hitch, wiring and ball would I need? Cheaper is better! Also this is a standard transmission vehicle. Thanks.

I recommend part # C13144 to tow your trailer. This hitch offers 525 pounds of tongue weight and 3500 pounds of trailer weight.
You need a wiring harness for your trailer lights. Part # C56040 works for your application. I like this harness because it is easy to install and easy to conceal under the vehicle.
For a ball mount I recommend part # 989891. This ball mount kit offers a 2 inch drop and a 3/4 inch rise. This kit includes a 1-7/8 inch ball which is common on smaller boat trailers. The kit also includes a 2 inch ball if you need to tow anything else as well as a carry bag for when the hitch is not in use.
