Correct Ball Mount Height for 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 With Curt Class III Receiver # 13333
Question:
I received as a birthday gift, the curt #13333 hitch for my truck. What size is recommended for the ball mount? Thanks

Expert Reply:
The ball mount needed will depend on the coupler height of your trailer when it is level. The difference in height between your receiver and the trailer coupler will dictate which particular ball mount is needed. You will also want to choose the appropriately sized trailer ball and a ball mount that has a capacity greater than the weight of the trailer you are planning on towing.
If you will be towing different trailers that have various heights, an adjustable ball mount might be the best choice for you. I will link you to our selection of fixed and adjustable ball mounts for you to look over. Click on the provided links.
It so happens that we have an excellent FAQ article that shows step-by-step how to measure the receiver and trailer coupler height to determine the rise or drop of ball mount you need. To see the article, click on the provided link.
